Executive Functioning with ADHD

Transitions

For neurodiverse clients who experience work & life challenges with ADHD, we examine a client's ability to transition from tasks that are interesting, 'fun,' or otherwise engaging, into tasks that are not. We develop awareness around this process & develop individual systems for each unique client, working to make initiating difficult tasks easier.

Time Management

Executive Functioning is necessary for effective time management. In neurodivergent people, time is much more difficult to manage on your own. We explore tools to return time management skills to the client's life, so they can more easily -and consistently- complete tasks and achieve goals.

Overwhelm

Clients with executive functioning challenges often feel overwhelmed. Their natural gifts to come up with many strategic goals -and many ways to accomplish those goals- can sometimes work against them, when they think about where to start, and how to follow through to the end. Sometimes clients experience paralysis by analysis and perfectionism that inhibits just getting a task done.

We examine this process at the individual level, and work to identify what's happening for the client, and how to do things differently when that occurs.
